Make a Difference in Someone’s Life this Christmas

I’ve long toyed with this idea. I am sure it’s nothing new and people probably do it all the time, but for anyone looking to buy me Christmas or birthday presents, I would like them instead to make a small donation to my favorite charities. I’m an impulse shopper and at times spend foolishly so if there is something I *really* want, I’ll buy it for myself.

Well, this is the year that I will try to stick to my guns. Yesterday, my mother asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I kindly asked that she make a donation to the Jimmy Fund for my only present this year. I will give the same answer to everyone who asks this year.

I don’t recall exactly when this video came out but it always keep’s me inspired to give to the Jimmy Fund. I don’t have anyone in my family or circle of friends that have children suffering from cancer, but as a father I can’t think of many things that could possibly be worse.

What are your favorite charities to give to?

Im the same way as you. A lot of us in this business are spoiled so we buy whatever we want whenever. I cant think of one thing i want or need that i dont have,

When asked this question by family or friends I ask that they make a donation to http://www.bestfriends.org

That is the most generous gift someone could give you and others.

Being a cancer survivour, and watching several family members die of cancer, I commend you on your choice of charities.

Two of my favourites to try and help are “the Make a Wish Foundation” and “Mercy Hospice”.

Mercy Hospice was a godsend for my mom and family back in 96 when my dad had died of colon and prostate cancer.

I’m so much of an impulse shopper that I have to make a reaaaaaaaaaal effort not to bring my kids home treats during Christmas.

I’m not a baller like you guys ;) but I spoil the hexxorz out of my kids.

I loved that video btw, it’s not to often that a cancer vid makes you smile instead of cry. It was sweet, and got its point across.

Since it’s Christmas time, any adopt a family is a great charity. Boys n Girls Club too.

Also the Ronald McDonald house charities. :)
